July 22, 2024 – Claymont, DE – SIP3, a leading provider of Real-Time Communication Services Observability and Automated Management solutions, is proud to unveil its latest release, Version 2024.2.1. This update brings a host of new features and enhancements designed to improve security, functionality, and performance for our users.

Key Improvements in Version 2024.2.1:

1. Role-based Access Control (RBAC)

SIP3 now features robust Role-based Access Control (RBAC) to enhance security and access management. This system restricts user access based on assigned roles, ensuring users only access the resources necessary for their job functions. RBAC functionality is available via UI or API and supports OpenID Connect or SAML 2.0 Identity Providers, significantly minimizing risks and preventing unauthorized access to sensitive information.

2. Support for SIP over WebSocket

The new SIP over WebSocket feature enables the transmission of the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) via WebSocket, facilitating multimedia communication sessions through web browsers. This integration enhances browser capabilities for real-time communication and is widely used in WebRTC technology, now available to SIP3 commercial clients.

3. IPFIX Protocol Support

SIP3 now supports the IPFIX (IP Flow Information Export) protocol, standard for exporting network flow information from devices to monitoring systems. This feature is particularly beneficial for Session Border Controllers (SBCs) that protect VoIP/UC networks. Oracle SBC equipment uses IPFIX to collect, export, and analyze SIP traffic data, processed by SIP3 Captain for detailed monitoring and analysis, essential for large telecommunications operators.

4. Enhanced HEP3 Protocol Processing

SIP3 Captain now processes the HEP3 protocol more efficiently, optimizing network and computational resources. This enhancement is crucial for managing high volumes of VoIP traffic and is available in the commercial version of SIP3.

5. Improved Communication Protocol Between SIP3 Components

The communication protocol between SIP3 Captain and SIP3 Salto components has been significantly updated. Both free and commercial versions now support TCP and UDP-based exchange protocols. Additionally, the commercial version includes data transmission via WebSocket, providing dynamic data processing flow distribution and built-in WebSocket protocol encryption, ideal for large-scale projects.

6. Centralized Configuration for SIP3 Captain

SIP3 Captain now features centralized configuration management, improving the operation of large-scale, horizontally scalable voice traffic infrastructures. This system supports a hierarchical configuration structure, allowing for general and specific settings for SIP3 Captain and individual agents. Centralized configuration is managed through an open API and is available in the commercial version of SIP3.

Stay ahead with SIP3’s latest advancements in VoIP technology, designed to enhance performance, security, and scalability for your communication needs!
